Air Mattress review | Family of six POV

Finding the right air mattress for our family was not as easy as it sounds. I've read many reviews. watched plenty youtube videos and yet, end up having 5 different types of them 🤪

So, here’re my (family of six) POV 

1. Intex double thick air mattress

This was one of the earliest air mattress that we have, long before we started camping . We use it especially during travel. Well, sometimes at home too. Santai santai depan tv ke.

Comes in a bag

Slide left to inflate, right to deflate. 

Fully inflated 

Pros

Comes with built in air pump (need to connect to power to function. no battery). Doesnt take much time to fully inflate. Its a nice mattress actually. Very comfy, nice material. 

Cons

It was too heavy for my liking. 

A bit bulky i must say. (because of the material i think)

Need power source to inflate.

And i doubt the durability. We have two of these. and both at first performed well, but after many times of uses, we need to re-inflate them the next day as they will become softer. Maybe there's air leak but its too troublesome to find that tiny hole on this thick mattress

2. Decathlon double air mattress

Bought them for our first camping trip. We use Arpenaz Family 4 back then. The space inside the tent was limited and can only can fit two (120cm) double air mattress. 

Pros

Fast inflate

Strong and durable material. We've used them for months, well abused by the kids 😆 (all those jumping and tumpah everything ) but still standing strong.

Cons

I think mak mak (/most parents) can relate to my situation here . Sometimes i need to 'diam diam' get up from the mattress after the kids falls asleep without waking them up.. But i cant really move without making a sound 😮‍💨

The size. I should have bought the 140cm. Muat ke tak belakang kira. HAHAHA jkjk. Measure your tent before buying k

But overall, im satisfied with the quality. Its one of the mattress that i didnt regret buying. 

3. Mobi Garden self inflate sleeping pad

Bought them because at some point, i cant stand air mattress. I'll be kinda dizzy if lying too long on it. And with the kids jumping around, making it worst. Thus i opt for a non air mattress that is easy to bring everywhere. 

Mine was the 3cm thickness. I bought the three people size which doesn't have the 6cm thickness  option. So it is what it is. My hubs and kids doesn't complained tho. But i've read somewhere people saying its too thin for them. For me, i have no issue with the thickness. Its like sleeping on Narita toto but more comfortable. Since the filling is foam.

Pros

Easy to inflate. Just open the valve, and leave them there to fluff.

Less anxious when the kids jumped on them. (aku selalu risau kalau tilam tu meletop bila diorang lompat 😆)

No dizziness

Won't disturbed anyone (on the mattress) when somebody move

Cons

A bit bulky when folded. Its not too big, but bigger than air mattress.

4. Mobi Garden portable Air Bed sleeping pad

After some times, the self-inflate sleeping pad became irrelevant to us as it took much space inside the car. Especially during camping. We need to really fully utilize the space. Hence i bought this mobi garden air bed/ sleeping pad /air mattress. 

Mobi vs decathlon (thickness & valve)

Pro

It is the thinnest, lightest , comfortable air mattress that i've ever had ! 

With 12cm thickness, can easily inflated/deflated, very durable (well abused by my 4kiddos)

Compact size when folded

Surprisingly, didn't wiggle as much when someone moves (on the mattress) and less noise too!

Bonus : the color and design is pleasant to my eyes 💖

Cons

None for now

5. Mobi Garden Inflatable Bed Air mattress Double

Eventhough the previous 12cm model sounds perfect for us, after seeing other campers' tent setup in FC and AACM group on fb, my hands got itchy 

The 35cm air bed looks so nice, so pretty , very the insta worthy 

My judgement was clouded by those things

So *accidently bought one 🫣

At this point my husband started to call me, the queen of air mattress . 😑

Well, cant blame him tho 🤪

Anyway, here are my thoughts

Bukan tilam terbang 🤭 jemur jap. Lepas nak cari macam bocor guna air sabun

Pro

Compared to my intex mattress, the material is lighter and the size is more compact when folded. 

The color is nice

It looks nice

The top material feels smoother and softer on the skin. 

Cons

Its thick, thus the bounciness is not to my liking. 

I bought without the built in pump version, it tooks so long to fully inflated. 

After 3 times of usage, it started to “self-deflate” only after few hours.

I kinda dissappointed actually. I have high expectation for mobi garden brands. This was their first product that fails me. 

I asked seller about the self deflate thing but they said its normal. Just reinflate. 

Quoting my husband’s word , as a “queen of air mattress”   I am 200% sure that is definitely not normal 🙄

So i did the soap water test

Guess what ?

I found 2 tiny holes . They’re so small that u cant see with bare eyes. But big enough to escaped air

Patched the holes

There you go

Those are my thoughts and preference for air mattresses

Owh one last thing tho !

Tent size and shapes plays important roles for choosing which mattress we can use. If the shape, is like kuih koci type, then the thick (35cm) mattress wont fit nicely eventhough the width looks fine. I mean if only one mattress maybe can. But 2 of them will make ur tent veeery stretched . Trust me. I’ve learned through the hard way 🫣

As for today, i think I’ve settled down with the mobi portable air pad sleeping pad. 

2 double mattress (140cm) nicely fit the 6 of us

Hopefully this review can help u to choose the perfect air mattress for u and wont end up hoarding a pile of them like me 🤣

Camping | Tanjung Hills Retreat , Janda Baik

Kali kedua kami berkhemah bersama keluarga. Kali pertama insyaallah akan aku kongsikan di entry lain. Sesungguh nya pengalaman pertama sangat berharga dan huru hara 😂

Khemah

Berkhemah dengan anak kecil sangatlah tak sama dengan bujang dan rakan rakan. Masa bujang dulu uruskan diri sendiri je. Sekarang semua atas kepala kau (dan bapaknya). Dari bab makan, tempat tidur, aktiviti, keselamatan, semua tu kali dengan berapa ahli yang ada.

Kali pertama hari tu kami camping guna khemah Arpenaz 4 dari Decathlon. Asalnya beli khemah tu untuk lepak lepak tepi pantai. Tidor siang kejap ke. camtu. Tak pernah jangka pulak akan terbuka hati untuk bermalam. 

Long story short, kami bermalam.

Memang muat

Tapi semua orang kena tdo tegak je. boleh pusing sikit sikit je. takleh lebih lebih 😂 pastu tilam tu pulak menggelongsor ke tepi, udah anak yang tdo tengah tengah terpegholoih ke bawah.

Adoila. Kesian member. 

Sebenarnya memang dah syak macam akan tak selesa. Tapi first time kan. Malas la nak invest ke khemah besar terus. Dibuatnya kang tak kena dengan jiwa mereka (dan kami), dah satu hal. So kite try dulu. Tengok ok ke tak

Dan jawapan nya OK !

Sekarang cerita pasal khemah dulu

Bila dah semua orang OK untuk camping next dan next next lagi, so its about time la kan . To update the tent. We need a tent that can fit us all and everything else too.

Sekarang ada baaaanyakk sangat option untuk khemah yang besar dan best. Yang murah ada , yang mahal pun ada

Sebelum ni kami taktau pun brand brand khemah lain. Main search je kat shopee : khemah besar, large tent etc 😅

Dan yang keluar masa search tu kebanyakan khemah yang takde brand (kalau ada pun brand best melintas masa tu, kami tak pernah dengar langsung) noob sangat 🤦🏽‍♀️

Tu yang husband  sebenarnya dah hmmm terrr beli khemah unta 👉👈

Ada tu dalam stor. Tak pakai lagi 🙈 Ada sesiapa nak beli tak? kami nak letgo ni. unused. Harga mur mur je iols kasi

Ni antara top list dalam khemah yang aku nak beli hari tu. Memang nyaarisssss sangat nak beli wehh

Suka sangat color dia. Besar pun besar. Auto tent katanya. (sepatutnya) mudah di pasang. Tapi aku takleh komen lebih la part tu, sebab tak pernah try kan. Korang tgk kat link aku bagi atas tu. Description dia memang menggoda habis. 

Cuma in the end, kami tak beli ni sebab kawan cakap dalam dia cotton. So kena extra care la kot. (Aku tatau, ni dia cakap based on campers lain punya experience) 

Kalau hujan ke masa lipat tu, balik kena terus angin kan. If not, risau ber tahi lalat. Kalau korang jenis yang cermat, pandai jaga, takde hal

Khemah ni, kawan aku pakai. Setakat ni kalau camping mesti pergi dengan diorang. Memang handsome weh in real life. Kejap je dorang pasang. Sap sap soii SIAP. ha camtu. Sebab dia auto tent. Memang luas. Diorang tidur berlima beranak. Ada dua ruang. Satu ruang untuk tidur, satu ruang lagi jadi macam hall tempat lepak. Tent ni kalau tak pasang flysheet pun takpe dah. Sekeliling khemah semua boleh bukak kain tepi dia tu. Dan boleh setting tempat masak kerusi meja semua tu tepi tu je. 

Memang highly recommended 👍

3. Coleman

Coleman ni kira antara yang high end punya kategori. Ada duit lebih boleh beli ni. Quality tiptop katanya. Yang Darkroom tu sangat la menarik hatiku. Hmm...someday la kot...some other dayy

4. Mountainhiker

Khemah ni cantik. Aku kenaaan sangat.  Tapi kena sedar diri. Dia untuk 3-4 orang. Boleh berdiri kat dalam (cukup ruang untuk solat). Kalau untuk small family memang perfect ni. Sebab dia senang gila nak pasang dorang cakap.

Tapi ada lagi ni dalam cart aku. Hahaa. Mana la tau kan, untuk berkelah ke nanti. Hahahaaaaaaaa

5. Khemah Unta

Antara khemah yang banyak dapat sambutan. Sebab harga dia mampu milik. Kalau search khemah besar, large tent etc memang dia nombor syatu yang akan keluar. Kami hari tu terbeli sebab tu la 🙈

Tapi tak jadi guna sebab masa tu dengar orang cakap khemah unta ni banyak yang bocor. Masa kami nak pergi camping hari tu pulak musim hujan. Memang berdeborla dengar. Tu yang tak pakai pakai lagi sampai sekarang. Walhal bila baca balik review orang, ramai je pakai. Dan ok je deme. Tak bocor pun. Kalau nak double protection, pasang flysheet atas dia. Settle. 

5 di atas antara khemah yang biasa diguna, di review oleh para campers. Ada banyak lagi. Dod, Black dog, Deer Creek, eh, banyaklah. 

Aku cadangkan, kalau korang baru baru nak start camping, belum ada khemah, taktau kena dengan jiwa ke tak aktiviti ni, try sewa dulu kat campsite yang ada offer sewa khemah. Ambik feel dulu. Ngam ke tak ngam ke, kalau ngam baru cari khemah.

Dia punya ciri ciri tu, aku rasa perfectly fit us! Ada bilik yang cukup luas untuk kami semua tidur sekali. Ada hall untuk lepak

Aku nak explain susah, letak gambar la senang eh

Bilik | Aku tersalah bajet size tilam. Sepatutnya size 1 double 1 triple pun dah ok aku rasa. Ni aku beli 2 triple. Terlebih sikit hujung tu. tapi ok je sebab boleh kelepet kan sikit. Cuma tak berapa comel la 

Kalau korang tengok bahagian atas tilam tu, masih ada ruang untuk letak beg baju etc. Aku tak setup cantik cantik insta worthy punya setup. Belum jumpa idea lagi macam mana nak susun lawa lawa macam orang lain. Sekarang ni yang utama, mudah nak capai, tersusun. Cukup.

Bebas tidur berguling 😂

Hall. Luas kan? Anak anak pun senang nak beraktiviti kat sini. Main board games, borak borak, ikut kome lah nak buat ape pun

Meja kami letak di bahagian depan

Malam aku bawak masuk dapur, box semua tu. Risau kot hujan ke tengah malam. Meja tinggal kat luar. Tapi kalau nak bawak masuk pun muat je sebenarnya

Bahagian depan kami tutup yang lapisan mesh sahaja. Outer layer tu biarkan terbuka. Biar udara masuk.

Dapur aku setup kat bahagian tepi ni. Supaya tak kacau budak budak tu keluar masuk . Deme tu bukan boleh kira. Kang habih semua dilanggornya.

Khemah ni boleh buka semua pintu sekeliling tau. Tapi aku takde gambar sebab tak buka semua hari tu. Ni gambar dari product page

Boleh bebas berdiri

Macam ni rupa dia kalau buka semua. Tapi ni LS4 bukan 3. Design dia sama, cuma LS4 lagi besar. Dia ada 4 pole. Tu je beza

Lan Sheng 4

Satu lagi yang aku rasa best pasal tent ni, it comes with separate inner tent. So boleh guna as shelter atau khemah, dua dua pun boleh. Set ni datang sekali dengan 1 inner tent. Tapi boleh beli additional inner tent kalau korang rasa nak privacy, takmo kongsi bilik ramai ramai dah pasni.

Cuma roof dia tu kena beli asing. Takde pun takpe katanya tapi aku rasa macam gonjeng pulak kalau takde. Ground sheet pun jual asing. 

Cara pasang dia, tak lepas nak upload kat sini . Aku share yang YouTube punya la eh

Aktiviti kami kat sini, mandi sungai, memancing, malam budak budak main board games, lepak tepi kolam,borak borak

Maks Ayahs borak kat tepi, sambil bincang mana next destinasi 😂

 Tanjung Hills ni pemandangan dia memang cantik sangat sangat. Sejuk pun sejuk. Ada kolam ikan. Nak memancing pun boleh, tapi kena bayar. 

Satu tapak : RM100/night

Deposit : RM50

Memancing : RM50 untuk satu joran kalau tak silap. 

Tapi yang tak berapa syoknya ada waktu checkin/checkout. 

kami masuk hari Jumaat.

Check-in 1130-1200pm

Checkout 12pm

Kena betul betul uruskan masa. Sebab paham paham la checkout camping ni bukan macam hotel. Semua ko kena kemas sendiri AtoZ. Dibuatnya hujan pulak. Perfecto 😭

Yang syoknya pulak, ikan dia sedap gaaaissssss. Sumpah sedap! Tak hanyir langsung. Aku ni bukan peminat ikan sungai sebenarnya. Tu yang macam pandang sebelah mata je masa dorang makan. Sekali bila dah tinggal hujung hujung, tu baru nak rasa. Aduhhh menyesal !

Yang kitorang dapat tangkap hari tu ikan talapia Norway. Terngiang ngiang lagi kemanisan isi dia sampai sekarang. Kitorang goreng biasa je pun , dah sedap

Tempat ni ada disediakan toilet, sink dan tong sampah. Cuma kena jalan sikit la dari tapak kami tu. 

Waktu malam, ada lampu sekeliling kolam. So tak la gelap sangat. 

👆🏽 perjalanan dari khemah ke toilet waktu subuh. 

Ni sum up (hampir) semua aktivity kami di sini di ig reels. Dekat highlights pun ada cerita tentang aktiviti kami di sini. Highlights tu lagi detail dan tersusun kot. Kat blog ni aku blur sket canne nak upload video. Korang tengok situ la eh kalau nak tau lebih.
